Laura Lafuente, Pieter Ansoms and Edoardo Borgiani will attend the workshop “Sex Differences in Physiology: Mathematical Modelling and Analysis” organized by the Banff International Research Station (BIRS) for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery. The workshop takes places from 5 to 10 March 2023 in Banff (Alberta, Canada). More info about the workshop can be found here.

Additionally, Yun Zhang will attend the workshop online.

The long-term goals of this 5-day workshop are to foster new collaborations, with a particular focus on junior researchers, to promote new research at the interface between mathematics and physiology that takes into account the influence of sex and gender, and ultimately to address the knowledge gap in healthcare between the sexes and genders. One of the workshop organizers is Aurélie Carlier (Maastricht University), who is an alumni of our group.
