Tim, Liesbeth, Tom, Gabriele, Mojtaba and Lies have published in Scientific Reports
Tim Herpelinck, Liesbeth Ory, Tom Verbraeken, Gabriele Nasello, Mojtaba Barzegari and Liesbet Geris, among other co-authors, have published a paper in Scientific Reports titled “A single-cell atlas of the murine limb skeleton integrating the developmental and adult stages.” You can read the full publication here.
In this study, the authors present the Limb Skeletal Cell Atlas, a robust and versatile framework for characterizing a broad range of cell populations within the limb skeleton. The atlas was created by manually reannotating and integrating publicly available single-cell RNA-seq datasets, focusing on mesenchymal lineage cells and covering the process from limb induction through to adult bone formation, detailing 39 distinct cell types and states.
By expanding the number of developmental time points and cell types within a unified dataset, this work enables more comprehensive analyses of cell-cell communication and supports in silico perturbation studies. Altogether, the Limb Skeletal Cell Atlas represents a valuable resource for researchers in skeletal biology, metabolism, and regenerative medicine, addressing a critical gap in existing atlas mapping efforts.
