Margaryta Ivanets and Sophie Nguyen presented their work at the 10th World Congress of Biomechanics (WCB 2026), held on 11-15 July 2026 in Vancouver, Canada. The congress brought together a global research community partnered by the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB), the Canadian Society of Biomechanics/Société Canadienne de Biomécanique (CSB/SCB), and the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB).

Both of them presented a poster:

• Margaryta: “Biocompatibility assessment of 3d-printed hydroxyapatite/polycaprolactone composites for intraoral bone regeneration”
• Sophie: “In silico design of degradable joint implants for optimal balancing of tissue formation and implant degradation”

Our PI, Liesbet Geris, also attended the congress. She participated in the ESB debate on the motion “Alternative, In Vitro, and In Silico Methods Will Replace Animal Models in Biomechanics.”
