Mojtaba was awarded as a Member of the best hands-on project at the VPH Summer school 2019

Mojtaba Barzegari has won the best hands-on project prize as a member of the team working on the project entitled “Machine learning and mechanistic tissue modelling for image-guided brain surgery” at the VPH summer school 2019, held in Barcelona from 10 to 14 June. In this project, they worked on the implementation of a remote robotic arm controller combined with a Finite Element simulation of brain edema to better assess electrode placement in Deep Brain Stimulation.

The team comprised Marilisa Cortesi (University of Bologna, Italy), Eduardo Villamor Medina (Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain), Mojtaba Barzegari (KU Leuven, Belgium), Qiao Li (University of Sheffield, UK), Darta Zake (Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre, Latvia), and Yingjin Feng (University of Bordeaux, France).
