Sophie has received a mobility grant

Sophie Bekisz has received a mobility grant from the Léon Fredericq Foundation (https://www.fondationleonfredericq.be/jcms/c2_24306049/fr/laureats-2021). Congratulations, Sophie!

We have asked Sophie her plans regarding this mobility grant:

Regarding my mobility grant, it is for traveling in London (UK), at the Francis Crick Institute. In fact, we would like to collaborate with Prof. Katie Bentley (Francis Crick Institute, London – King’s College, London – Harvard Medical School, Boston), a specialist in computational and in silico modeling. She has already developed a cellular mathematical model of angiogenesis in the framework of bone reformation. We plan to adapt this model to the process of lymphangiogenesis, which is the main topic of my thesis. Being in London and in direct contact with the main creator of the computer model that I will have to adapt would really be an advantage for doing quality work. In addition, the experimental set-ups to carry out the biological experiments necessary for the adaptation and validation of the in silico model are already well established and mastered in this laboratory. A stay abroad would be beneficial, both to improve my command of English, an essential language when working in research, and to complete my background and my doctoral studies.

Best of luck with your research stay, Sophie!
